Al Madinah Families Network Calgary
Assalamo Alaikum,
By the Grace of Allah and the RAHMAH of Rasool-ullah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam), the Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Centre has taken another major initiative for the Muslim Community of Calgary and the surrounding areas. This initiative is called AL MADINAH FAMILIES NETWORK CALGARY. The objectives of this network are as follows:
1. Provide family services to the Muslims of Calgary and the surrounding areas. These services include;
a. Assistance in the issues of domestic violence.
b. Provide counseling on the issues related to family relationships.
c. Foster Care and Child Care.
2. Provide counseling and guidance to the victims of bullying, discrimination and racism.
3. Provide assistance to boards of education and employers on the issues involving cultural or religious matters.
4. Matrimonial services.
5. Assistance to new immigrants and refugees regarding job search.
6. Provide computer and Internet facilities to new comers.
7. Provide a meeting place for the senior citizens.
8. Temporary residence for the new comers in Calgary. Families have to qualify for this service and it is only available for the first three days upon arrival in Calgary. It is expected that in three days, families will be able to arrange housing.
Sister Farana Chowdhry has accepted the responsibility to be the first president of the Al Madinah Families Network. The Executive Board will be announced shortly.
