Al Tawakal Mosque Starts Daily Free Food For Everyone

(Toronto) The Al Tawakal Mosque, Toronto will be starting a free food program from the holy month of Ramadan. Al Tawakal Mosque is a newly established mosque in Toronto and affiliated with the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada. This is a second Sufi Muslim mosque in the Greater Toronto Area to start the free food program. Everyone is welcome.

By the grace of almighty Allah, Al Tawakal Mosque has taken this step in order to serve the most needed community members and breakdown the barriers. This is the second mosque in North America where daily Hot Meal will be served to everyone who comes there. Jamia Riyadhul Jannah, Mississauga was the first North American Mosque which started the free food program last year.

On Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 7:00 PM a launching ceremony of the Daily Free Food Program will be held at Al Tawakal Mosque, near 786 Restaurant, 1330 Gerrard Street, East, Toronto, Ontario, M4L 1Z1. From July 21, 2012, the free food program will be available to everyone.

On behalf of Islamic Supreme Council of Canada and the Al Tawakal mosque we invite all faith based organizations, churches, synagogues, temples, places of worship, individuals, religious leaders and community leaders to attend the launching ceremony on July 17 at 7:00 PM.

We invite Canadian media organizations; newspapers, TV and radio to send their representatives to attend the launching ceremonies on July 17 at 7:00 PM.

Several dignitaries and community leaders will be attending the event.

“We hope this project will motivate other mosques and Muslim organizations to work outside their own communities and become part of mainstream Canadian society. We need to breakdown silos around us and bring new and old immigrants closer to each other in order to build stronger, safer and better Canada”, said Imam Syed Soharwardy, the founder of ISCC and the Lead Imam of Al Tawakal Mosque, Toronto.
