Islamic Supreme Council of Canada Thanks Mr. Lucien Bouchard and Mr. Jacques Parizeau for Supporting the Freedom of Religion in Quebec

Montreal) The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada (ISCC) and its affiliate organizations & mosques across Canada appreciate the recent statements by Mr. Lucien Bouchard and Mr. Jacques Parizeau on the controversial Charter of Quebec Values. Their stand against this charter is correct. We are grateful to Mr. Lucien Bouchard and Mr. Jacques Parizeau for doing the right thing. Their support for the religious freedom in Quebec is important and we are thankful for their support. 

Islamic Supreme Council of Canada hopes that Parti Québécois Premier and other Parti leaders will accept the advice of their leaders and show some respect for them. “After such a strong advise against the proposed “Charter of Quebec Values” from two  Parti Québécois senior leaders Premier Marois should back off from this oppressive anti-religion discriminatory charter”, said Imam Syed Soharwardy today. This will be the right thing to do. We pray for the unity and good relationships among the followers of all faiths.
