Muslims To Celebrate Prophet Muhammad Day on Friday

(Calgary) The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada declares the coming Friday, September 21, 2012 as the “Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool Day” (Love and honour Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Day. ISCC requests all Imams and the community leaders to deliver Friday sermon on the Love, respect and the obedience of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

ISCC urges all Muslims to remember the guidance of Allah’s last messenger towards humanity, Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him) in this crisis situation when few ignorant hatemongers tried to play with the emotions of Muslims. We must respond to the tasteless, cheap and blasphemous attacks on our beloved Muhammad (peace be upon him) with responsibility and knowledge. We must not surrender to the “intellectual terrorism” of little attention seeker terrorists. The path of violence is un-Islamic and not acceptable. Islam, Qur’an and our Prophet (peace be upon him) provide the best and the perfect moral and spiritual system to the entire humanity. We are proud to be the followers of the universal Prophet of Mercy, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

ISCC invites all non-Muslim Canadians to visit mosques in their neighbourhoods on Friday, September 21 and attend the Friday sermons where Imams are expected to explain the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

In Calgary, Imam Syed Soharwardy will be leading the Friday prayer at 1:00 PM at the Gymnasium Hall (basement) at the Genesis Centre of Community Wellness, 7556 Falconridge Boulevard Northeast, Calgary, AB T3J 0C9. Snacks will be served after the prayer.
