ISCC Condemns President Bush for Demonizing Islam

There is No Radical Islam, only Radical People

Mr. Bush Must Apologise to all Muslims

Calgary) The President of Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, Syed B. Soharwardy has strongly condemned Mr. Bush’s State of the Union Address in which he tried to demonize the religion of Islam by creating its categories. Mr. Bush, twice in his speech, mentioned the Radical Islam. This reflects the narrow mindedness and intolerant thinking of Mr. Bush.

There is no radical Islam. There is only one Islam. Mr. Bush has no right to create categories of our religion.  Islam can not be radical. Islam is simple and natural way of life. Islam came to remove radicalism, fanaticism and extremism.

Mr. Bush must know that the radical Christians, in the name of Christianity, killed thousands of Muslims in Jerusalem in 1011, 6 millions Jews in Europe, dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killed half million Muslims in Bosnia, killed one million children in Iraq through embargo. Mr. Bush must know that it was Radical Christianity that killed millions of natives in North America. The radical Christianity still exist in the United States of America as Ku Klux Klan.

Syed Soharwardy said, “There is no doubt that there are few misguided and former American trained radical warlords among Muslims.  These warlords are as radical as Mr. Bush”.

Syed Soharwardy has asked President Bush to apologise for making such ill-informed remarks about Islam.  We, Muslims respect all faiths especially the Christianity and the Judaism and expect that the followers of other faiths will show the same respect for our religion; Islam.

Thanks

Syed B. Soharwardy

President
