ISCC and MAT welcome the Canadian Parliament’s Motion on Condemning Islamophobia
(Calgary) Muslim Against Terrorism (MAT), world’s first anti-terrorism NGO and the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada (ISCC), a national Canadian Muslim organizations welcome the unanimous adoption of a resolution in the Canadian Parliament condemning Islamophobia. This was a great day for all Canadians. The resolution sends a very positive and strong massage not only to all Canadians but to the entire world that Islamophobia and all other forms of hatemongering are not welcome in Canada.
ISCC and MAT are committed to peaceful dialogues among various faith and other groups in Canada. “We must stand up against hate and intolerance in all shapes and forms”, said Imam Soharwardy yesterday in his Friday sermon. It is our obligation as Muslims to stand up not only against Islamophobia but also against anti-Semitism, anti-Christian and anti-minorities propaganda. Racism, discrimination, violence and hate has no place in the Canadian society and it should not have any place in any civil society.
ISCC and MAT are grateful to all political parties and all the members of the Canadian Parliament for passing such an important resolution unanimously. This makes all Canadians very proud of our parliament and its members. God bless Canada.
