ISCC Strongly Condemns the Attacks on the Two Canadian Soldiers in Quebec

(Calgary) The Muslim Against Terrorism and the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada strongly condemn yesterday’s hit and run attacks on the two Canadian soldiers in Quebec. One of the soldiers has died and the other was wounded. The attacker was also later shot dead by the Police.

Our thoughts and the prayers are with the victims and their families. This is a very sad occasion. We pray for the speedy and full recovery of the injured soldier.”

“We urge the RCMP to investigate this terrorist attack thoroughly and find out who radicalized the alleged attacker and who else might have been involved in these attacks.”, Imam syed Soharwardy said in a statement today.

Based upon the media reports the alleged attacker was known “radicalized” to police in Quebec. ISCC and MAT want to know what preventive measures Police took to monitor the alleged radicalized attacker? What help the Police sought from the Muslim community regarding this radicalized attacker? Did the Muslim community in the area know about this attacker’s views and activities? If the attacker was known radicalized individual what did the government do to prevent such attacks?
