A local Islamic leader is hoping to draw attention to the root cause of terrorism.

Imam Syed Soharwardy will be holding a memorial service today for the victims of the Peshawar massacre, inviting both Muslims and non-Muslims to attend.

In a statement, Soharwardy says we have been focusing too much on the terrorist groups and individual terrorists and not enough and why it’s happening.

He calls the terrorists “imposters”, who are actually “enemies of Islam and Muslims.”

Soharwardy’s sermon begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Genesis Centre in the northeast.
