Calgary Imam Syed Soharwardy, concerned over the increasing radicalization of Canadian youth, is calling for an inquiry into the problem.

Soharwardy says it’s important to know why Canadian intelligence isn’t doing well at stopping homegrown radicalization and where the radicals’ funding is coming from. An inquiry would get to the bottom of the networks that are brainwashing them and channelling money to them, he says.

An estimated 130 Canadians have become jihadists and have gone overseas to fight with the terrorist group ISIS, with 30 of those from Calgary. One of those Canadian jihadists, John McGuire, has urged his fellow radicals to launch attacks on Canadian soil. We’d like to know what you think of Soharwardy’s idea for a national inquiry.
