First Ever Jewish Muslim Families’ Dialogue at a Mosque

(Calgary) More than a hundred Jewish Muslim families will be meeting tomorrow, Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the recently opened Green Dome Mosque, 4616 – 80th Avenue, NE Calgary (Intersection of Metis Trail & 80th Ave. NE). The program is called, “Our House Is Your House”.

“This gathering will be a major milestone in building relationships between the Jewish community and the Muslim community of Calgary. It is a historic event which will also be attended by all major denominations and sects of Islam. It’s a Jewish Muslim unity meeting,” said Imam Syed Soharwardy today, the founder of Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly.

Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly and its members will welcome our Jewish guests with open arms. It is an opportunity for our family members to talk and understand each other’s views, beliefs, traditions and cookings in a civilized and peaceful environment.

Next week on Sunday similar gathering will be held at the largest Synagogue in Calgary Beth Tzedec Synagogue at 4:00 PM.

On February 27, 2016 more than 75 Christian Muslim families attended the Christian Muslim Families dialogue and potluck dinner at the Symons Valley United Church, Kincora, NW Calgary.

“We are not just doing a dialogue between an Imam and Pastor OR Rabbi we are providing a platform to our families, our women, our children and men to sit down face to face and discuss everything directly without any fear or reservations”, Imam Soharwardy said.
Soon we will be organizing similar Jewish, Christian and Muslim families’ unity meetings in other cities of Canada.
For any questions please contact Imam Syed Soharwardy at 416-994-5467 OR 403-831-6330.
