ISCC and MAT Strongly Condemn Terrorists Attacks in Turkey and Bangladesh

(Calgary) Muslim Against Terrorism (MAT), world’s first anti-terrorism NGO and the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada (ISCC), a national Canadian Muslim organization strongly condemn the barbaric terrorist attacks in Istanbul and Dhaka.  Those who were involved in these attacks were murderers and must be brought to justice. Regardless of these murderers’ claim that they are Muslims and they want to impose Islam in countries overwhelming majority of Muslims does not believe they are Muslims.  These terrorists are (ab)using Islam to carry out their own agenda which is to control the people and the resources.  These are thugs and criminals in the sight of Allah, in the eyes of Islam and in the eyes of the laws of all countries.

So far, Bangladesh was immune to these terrorist attacks but yesterday’s attacks in Dhaka proved that these criminals are growing and spreading. If we will not stop this menace it will effect every one on the planet. It is every individual Muslim and non-Muslim’s obligation to expose such elements in the society and bring them to justice. “It is unimaginable for a Muslim to commit or support such heinous crimes especially in the holy month of Ramadan”, said Imam Syed Soharwardy.

ISCC and MAT urges people of all faiths and no faith to unite against these terrorists and extremists. The tactics of these terrorists to spare lives of those who were able to read Qur’an and kill those who were not able read Qur’an is in fact a very dangerous and deceiving tactics. They just want to create a conflict among people of faiths.  They want us to finger point and develop hate for each other. We, the Muslims, Christians, Jewish, Hindus, Sikhs, atheists, agnostics and followers of all other faiths  are completely united against violence, hate, racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Christian and anti-Semitism. We will not let these terrorists succeed.

ISCC and MAT offer deep condolences to the victims and their families of Istanbul and Dhaka attacks.  We stand shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters in Turkey and Bangladesh. We are all very sad and disturbed by these massacres of innocent people. Yesterday, in Friday prayers ISCC and MAT arranged memorial services (FATEHA) for the Muslim victims of these terrorist attacks and two minutes of silence for all victims of these attacks.

Tonight after nightly Ramadan prayers (TARAWEEH) at about MID-NIGHT (12:15 AM) ISCC and MAT will be holding FATEHA and a minute of silence for the victims of both attacks at the Symons Valley United Church, 38 Kincora Rise, NW Calgary.  We will express our solidarity our Christian brothers and sisters.
