(Calgary)  The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada supports the non-violent movements for democratic rule and freedom in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Jordan and other Muslim countries. ISCC supports the citizens of these countries in their struggle against the dictatorship and the corruption.
ISCC strongly condemns the brutal attacks on civilians by the loyal forces of the corrupt rulers of these countries. “Supporting and protecting corrupt rulers and attacking innocent civilians who are opposed to the tyrants is a sin and crime in Islam. The soldiers’ and the policemen of these countries should not be attacking civilians. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said, “speaking up against the tyrant ruler is the biggest Jihad”. The general public in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, etc. is standing up against the tyrants. They are trying to restore democracy and God given freedom in their countries. They must be supported in their struggle by every Muslim including the army and the police of these countries.” said, Imam Syed Soharwardy in Calgary today.
Imam Soharwardy has asked Qaddafi, Bashar Al Asad and other dictators to relinquish power immediately; otherwise, their fate will not be different than Saddam Hussain OR Hosni Mubarak.
Imam Soharwardy has asked all ISCC chapters to hold special prayer services on Friday, April 29, 2011 for the victims in Libya, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain. We also pray for the victory of our Muslim brothers and sisters who are struggling against tyranny and trying to establish democracy in their countries.  May Allah help them and bring peace and prosperity in Muslim countries. These countries have suffered a lot by the hands of tyrants. It’s about time to be free.
For any questions, please contact Imam Syed Soharwardy at 403-831-6330.
