Heroic fatwa

Re: “Train terrorists guilty,” Christie Blatchford, Opinion, March 21, and “Calgary imam declares fatwa on ISIS,” March 11.

After the surprise verdict in the Chiheb Esseghaier/Raed Jaser case, I pray that Imam Syed Soharwardy’s fatwa against terrorists hiding behind religion goes real-world viral.

He rightly recognizes that such dubious humans only succeed in portraying the Creator as a cosmic sadist ripping the wings off the flies He created for His own black amusement. It thus becomes the duty (and grim pleasure) of any person of good will to oppose Him and his twisted servants by all means.

Evangelization is no longer possible. I applaud the imam’s courage in both perceiving this and taking resolute action.
