Prime Minister Needs to Be Educated on Islam
Prime Minister Should Also Condemn Christianism
The Actual Threat to Canada is from Hate, Fanaticism and Extremism
(Calgary) Once again our Prime Minister, Steven Harper has shown his biased against Islam. Connecting Islam with “ism” is a complete misguidance that Prime Minister Steven Harper tried to spread through his interview with CBC. If there is something called “Islamism” then Mr. Steven Harper should also know that Christianism, etc. also exist. He should equally condemn them as well.
The founder of Muslims Against Terrorism, Imam Syed Soharwardy said in statement today that any intolerance or extremism based upon religious misinterpretations must be condemned by people of faith. “Muslims condemn all forms of extremism and violence against any segment of the society. We do not connect Christianity with the crimes of people like Timothy McVeigh and Anders Breivik. Why the crimes of few fanatics of Muslim community are linked with Islam and called, “Islamism”? Why the fanatics of other religions are not linked with their religions? Why Chiristianism and other “isms” are not a threat to Canada?
“We invite our Prime Minister to attend Islam 101 course. I am sure if the Prime Minister attends our course on Islam, he will get all his questions answered. We hope he will not make such misguided statements after attending the course. We, Canadian Muslims, believe that Prime Minister Steven Harper is our Prime Minster too. He should not badmouth about our faith and he should not relate fascism with our religion, Islam.
Islam is a normal commonsense natural religion which forbids any abnormality such as fanaticism, extremism, terrorism, etc. We do not believe in any “ism” and we do not want our religion to be linked with any “ism”. We love Canada and we will safeguard this glorious land with our sweat and blood. At the same time we love and respect our faith and the faiths of all other Canadians.
Muslims Against Terrorism is holding a memorial service for the victims of 9/11 tragedy on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 4:00 PM at the Lakewood Community Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. We invite people of all faiths to attend and find out our beliefs and traditions. You will find no such thing as “Islamism”. You will find Islam only.
