Opportunity of Democracy in Muslim Countries
Canada Must Stop Supporting Dictators and Their Regimes
Uprising in the Middle East & North Africa Should be Supported

(Calgary)  The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada urges the Canadian government to help in bringing democracy in Egypt and other North African and Middle Eastern countries. Canada, America and other western countries have long supported the dictators like Ben Ali of Tunisia, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, King Abdullah of Jordan, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and several other dictators in the Middle East and North Africa. The western governments are still supporting dictators in the Muslim countries. The western governments only pull the plug on the dictator when the dictator is forced by the people to leave the country like in the case of Ben Ali.  However, as long as the dictator is hanging on to power the western governments do not remove their support like in the case of Hosni Mubarak.
At this historic time when the people of several Middle Eastern and North African countries are trying to get back their God given right of freedom and justice, Canada, America and other western countries must support them by withdrawing their support for the dictators.
It is extremely frustrating and disappointing that the Canadian government have failed to condemn the Hosni Mubarak’s government for killing innocent citizens. The current nonviolent uprising is an opportunity for the western governments to prove that they sincerely support the human rights in Muslim countries too.
The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada supports the nonviolent struggle of people of Egypt and other Arab and Muslim countries. We pray to almighty Allah to bring democracy, respect for human rights and justice for the people living in Muslim countries.
